Tout juste âgé de 7 ans, Simthandile Tshabalala, de Johannesburg, en Afrique du Sud, a commencé à participer à de grands tournois locaux et internationaux l'année dernière et a déjà remporté 20 trophées.
Surnommé 'SimTiger' par les officiels du golf américain à la suite de sa performance remarquable au Championnat du monde de golf en Malaisie l'année dernière, le jeune homme, qui figure dans le top 15 du classement mondial des golfs pour enfants, continue de porter haut le drapeau sud-africain.
Il représentera son pays aux championnats de golf de l'Australian Open cette semaine, mais cela ne s'est presque pas produit après que l'élève de 2e année ait eu de la difficulté à obtenir un visa.
Son père, Bonginkosi Tshabalala, s’est adressé aux médias sociaux pour demander son aide, y compris le ministre des Sports et des Loisirs, Tokozile Xasa.

De nombreux Sud-Africains se sont rassemblés derrière le garçon et le problème a été résolu mardi après l'intervention de représentants du gouvernement, a rapporté IOL .
La compétition a lieu du samedi au mardi.
"Le championnat est un tournoi auquel participent les meilleurs joueurs du monde entier et lui (SimTiger) a été sélectionné après les championnats de Malaisie en décembre", a déclaré Tshabalala, qui est également le cadet et entraîneur du jeune golfeur.
Simthandile, qui est enthousiasmé par le développement, a déclaré qu'il était impatient de pouvoir rivaliser avec des concurrents du monde entier.
«J'ai travaillé dur au cours des trois derniers mois pour me préparer pour ce tournoi. Cela va être difficile, mais je vais relever le défi », a-t-il déclaré. Daily Sun.
Le joueur de 7 ans participera également à des tournois tels que le championnat européen de golf en Ecosse le mois prochain et le championnat de golf pour enfants Pepsi en juillet.
Simthandile a commencé à jouer au golf à l'âge de 5 ans. Ses parents l'avaient initié à divers sports tels que le tennis, la natation, le football et le golf quand il n'avait que 2 ans.
"Quand il avait quatre ans, il était accro au golf et il n'a jamais regardé en arrière", a déclaré son père.
De nombreuses personnes, en particulier les Sud-Africains, ont exprimé leur joie pour le talent du jeune garçon et lui ont souhaité tout le succès possible, alors qu'il se prépare à devenir un champion du World Open à l'avenir. Voici quelques commentaires:
